Chocolate and Pinwheels
Tuesday, April 18th, 2006 by SusannahWe’ve had a lovely Easter break. Here’s my girl enjoying her first ever Easter choccie whilst playing with the pinwheels that live out on the front verandah. She’s allergic to milk protein so I had to track down some Sweet William, but as you can see she loved it!
I’m just lamenting the fact that I didn’t get my act together and make this cute bunny in time for Easter! I have been so busy these past few weeks with ‘real’ work and Eloise, that the list of things I want to do is getting longer by the minute. I am trying not to feel frustrated and overwhelmed. I confess to being a procrastinator so it’s too easy to cruise blogland instead of getting stuck into it! You know how one site leads to another, leads to another that leads to another and before you know it it is midnight!
I am in the midst of a few swaps (Dani I haven’t forgotten you, honest!) and I have some ideas brewing that I am very excited about for the postcard swap organised by Nikki-Shell, due to be posted soon. I have already received a gorgeous postcard from the very talented Kristen. I was very excited to find it in my post office box hidden amongst my usually boring junk mail! I will give it a full online ‘review’ and showing off when the others trickle in.
So very tiny
Sunday, March 12th, 2006 by SusannahShe’s so very tiny. Sometimes I forget because her personality is growing so large!
Seeing her look out at the huge blue ocean and dip her tiny toes into the salty water for the first time took my breath away. She seemed fearless and confident but so vulnerable and small as she toddled across the sand. Squeals and giggles as the waves rippled into shore and chased her back along the beach.
Each day is so full of newness. Things she’s never seen. New sounds, smells and textures. Her pointer finger was in overdrive at the beach! I wonder what she thinks of it all? Sometimes she seems overwhelmed with excitement in her attempt to process all the world has to offer. In her world, even simple things like ‘helping’ me unpack the groceries one by one, become big adventures which elicit trills of delight!
It feels like such a giant responsibility to be sharing these moments with her. Protecting her, helping her grow, learn and discover life. It’s an honour and a joy that has far surpassed anything I could have dreamed.

My little fairy
Sunday, February 19th, 2006 by SusannahLook at my little girl! I’m having a proud Mummy moment. Rohan and I finally bought a digital SLR camera to play with, A Nikon D50. I am so excited! We took it for a whirl over at Montsalvat in Eltham. I am thrilled with the results (especially considering we didn’t really know what we were doing or indeed what the camera can REALLY do!). More photos can be seen over at Eloise’s blog. She had a wonderful afternoon. The fairy dress even seemed to make her walk differently! You could tell she felt very special.
